Smart App for Mindful Eating and Healthier Choices
Feedo Application
Smart App for Mindful Eating and Healthier Choices
Project Overview
Feedo is a mobile app that helps users build healthier relationships with food. Using AI and psychological insights, it identifies eating habits and emotional triggers, promoting mindful eating and sustainable practices. With a simple, user-friendly design, Feedo empowers lasting, positive change.
Problem
Unhealthy eating habits, especially emotional eating, can harm both mental and physical health. Many people eat in response to stress, boredom, or sadness, rather than hunger. Traditional diets often miss the emotional causes, leading to frustration and repeating unhealthy patterns.
Nearly 38% of adults struggle with emotional eating each month, often choosing unhealthy foods. Most current diet solutions ignore the emotional triggers behind food choices.
My Impact
Real-Time Tracking: Tracks both mood and food intake, helping users identify unhealthy patterns and triggers for better decision-making.
User-Friendly Interface : Combines a simple interface, advanced technology, educational resources, and community support to help users break free from emotional eating and other unhealthy behaviors.
Design Process
Benchmarking
Before diving into the design of Feedo, I first explored how other apps were addressing the emotional eating and mindful eating space. I conducted a competitor analysis of various apps, reviewing the features and structure they offered on their experience pages.
User Interview
I used user interviews to understand the personal challenges and needs of potential Feedo users. This helped uncover emotional eating triggers, desired features, and expectations for the app.
Key insights
Emotional Eating is a Major Concern:
All interviewees identified emotional eating as a key issue. Users mentioned stress, boredom, and anxiety as their primary emotional triggers, leading to unhealthy food choices, often comfort foods like snacks or pizza.
Desire for Personalized Tracking:
Most users expressed a strong interest in tracking both their food and mood, as they believe it would help them identify patterns and emotional triggers.
Support and Community Are Essential:
60% of participants stated they would benefit from a supportive community within the app. Connecting with others facing similar emotional eating challenges could provide motivation and accountability.
User-Friendly Design:
All participants emphasized the importance of a simple and intuitive app design. They want an interface that feels personal but isn’t overwhelming. The ease of tracking meals and moods was mentioned as a critical factor in user retention.
Information Architecture
I create structured and user-friendly information architecture that makes it easy for visitors to find what they need quickly. By organizing content logically and intuitively, I enhance user experience and streamline navigation, ensuring that users can effortlessly explore and engage with the App.

A simple design layout allowing users to quickly access key features with minimal effort.
Food Track and Mood
The user logs daily meals on these screens and records their mood before or during meals. The application analyzes food entries to identify unhealthy eating habits and provide insights.
Meal Plan Recommendation
In this screen, the AI generates weekly meal plans based on the user’s diet and mental health. Users get notified of updates and can access past plans with nutritional info.
